Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists
I am reviewing this guidance from ASHP around CMS audits and I have a question for everyone. Our program only offers a couple rotations outside of our hospital but within our health system and from the statement below, it appears we need to have a memorandum of understanding that our main site is in full control of the residency program. Do any of you have a memorandum like this and if so, would you be willing to share a template?
From ASHP:
Rotations: Rotations can provide a valuable training experience for residents, including by providing exposure to clinical services not available at the sponsoring site. However, the sponsoring hospital must still maintain control of the residency experience, even when the resident is participating in an off-site rotation. » If you opt to have a residency rotation site, even at another site within the same health system, develop a memorandum of understanding or other agreement memorializing the site curricula and documenting that the hospital sponsoring the residency program has full control over resident’s experience at the rotation site.
