Job Description: Clinical Pharmacist PRN

Full time - Rotating Shifts

Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.

Experience: Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical practice strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be proficient in mathematics.

Staff Pharmacist

Full time

Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. The pharmacist helps ensure the appropriate prescription and administration of medications to patients within the institution.

Qualifications:

    • Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
    • Active and clear or eligible within 3 months of position for Registered Pharmacist License and Controlled Substances Permit in the state of Alabama.
    • PGY1 or 3 or more years of inpatient practice experience preferred.
    • Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
    • Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties.
    • Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system.
    • Knowledge of aseptic technique
