Clinical Pharmacist - PRN
Mixed shifts/Rotating
Job Description - Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Weekend and Holiday rotation required. Position will be close to part-time hours.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period. Experience Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical practice strongly preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be proficient in mathematics.

Pharmacy Operations Manager

Job Description - Assists director in holding 24-hour accountability for the operation of hospital pharmacy; utilizes all available resources to assure effective performance of the department; provides appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to support departmental functions by completing departmental staffing schedule; assists director in personnel functions for the department, i.e., recruitment, hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations, counseling, and education and follows university and hospital policy related to personnel functions; monitors work performance of staff and advises Pharmacy Director of performance issues and progress of new staff members; provides training of personnel and ensures staff are competent to carry out their essential functions; provides ongoing pharmacy team member developmental training; abides by USP 795/797/800 standards and assists Compliance manager in ensuring processes are followed appropriately; evaluates workflow of the Pharmacy and devises strategies for efficiency; initiate and implement quality improvement projects in the pharmacy; assumes responsibility for Pharmacy when Pharmacy Director is not available; procure narcotics for the department and maintain appropriate records in accordance with state and federal regulations; assigns work and directly supervises daily activities in the pharmacy to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner; oversees Pharmacy inventory and works with Pharmacy Purchaser to ensure that products and supplies are sufficient to meet department and hospital demands; supports all personnel as valuable assets to the institution; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, coaches and mentors staff; serves as professional role model for all staff; able to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in regard to personnel matters; supports the mission of the University of South Alabama; utilizes a computer and appropriate software to generate reports and correspondence both written and electronic; abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values; represents the department in committee meetings as assigned; responsive to patients and visitors by assuring that services are provided in a timely manner with courtesy and compassion within a positive environmental setting; exercises sound judgment in advising physicians, nurses, department managers, etc., on key issues; interacts frequently with Health System Information Systems department to manage, maintain and utilize health system software and hardware systems. This could include but is not limited to trouble shooting and placing tickets for system maintenance; performs duties for which they are licensed; other duties as assigned / required.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Pharm. D. and five years of pharmacy experience, one of which was in a hospital setting. Management experience preferred.

Medication Therapy Management Pharmacist-Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center

Job Description-We are excited to announce the launch of our new Medication Therapy Management Program (MTM) at Regional Medical Center. RMC is committed to improving the quality of care for our patients. We are hiring an experienced clinical pharmacist to work with our physicians, patients, and associates to implement a patient centered MTM service. The primary goal of the MTM service is to provide a more comprehensive medication management service that will ensure that patients are receiving the safest and most cost-effective treatment. The MTM program is designed to assist both physicians and patients, by securing safer and more effective medication use through: • Medication Adherence: Improving the quality of patient care and outcomes (e.g., disease/symptom improvement/resolution, improved compliance, saved lives); • Controlling Cost: Reducing health care expenditures (e.g., reduction in expenses associated with physician visits, urgent/emergency care visits and hospitalizations); • Management Services: Reducing medication-related adverse events (e.g. improved patient safety through lab monitoring and polypharmacy).
Qualifications-The ideal candidate would be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy, have completed a PGY1 / PGY2 residency and be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy. This candidate should also be eligible to become certified through BCPS or NBMTM and practiced for a minimum of three years as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital or ambulatory care setting. Knowledge of the 340B program is highly preferred.

Pediatric Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (NICU)
7on/7off Dayshift
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. Baptist Health supports two Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Units that encompass a total of 65 beds across the system. In addition, pediatric services are offered within the emergency departments and in a 14 bed pediatric medical unit at Baptist Medical Center East. The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist promotes safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy throughout the hospital system in relation to the care of pediatric patients. This pharmacist is responsible for completing pharmacokinetic and parenteral nutrition consults primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units. In addition, the pharmacist actively participates daily in multi-disciplinary rounds as well as patient discharge education and medical emergency events. The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist provides leadership for all pharmacy clinical activities within this service line and maintains knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and policies. This position participates in the planning, organization, implementation and follow up of new programs and activities. The pharmacist will rotate among practice sites to ensure continuity of care between all units.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred. Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of 3 years of experience. 3 or more years of inpatient practice required. Alabama Board of Pharmacy license current, or eligible and must obtained within 3 months of position.
Alabama Board of Pharmacy controlled substance license current or obtained within 3 months in position. BCPS or BCPPS upon hire is preferred or working towards attainment of board certification within 2 years of hire date. ALBOP parenteral certification within 3 months in position. ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP or attainment within the first 6 months of hire. Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties. Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system. Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management. Knowledge of aseptic technique. Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
