Target Audience: Pharmacists

Pharmacist's Objectives:

• Review the current guideline recommendations for Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia
• Compare efficacy and safety of select antimicrobial agents with activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
• Analyze current literature assessing intravenous and oral linezolid use in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
• Discuss relevant patient, drug, and disease considerations when choosing an antibiotic regimen for the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia

Pharmacist Credit Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
