Title:  2020 Anaphylaxis Practice Guideline Update and Overview of Oral Immunotherapy for Desensitization of Peanut Allergies

Pharmacist's Learning Objectives:

    • Describe the recommendations for the general management of anaphylaxis from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology guidelines
    • Identify the 2020 updates to the anaphylaxis guidelines
    • Identify patients who may be at increased risk for biphasic reactions
    • Define the role of epinephrine, glucocorticoids, and antihistamines in treating anaphylaxis
    • Discuss peanut allergen oral immunotherapy powder and its role in therapy for patients with peanut allergy

      This event is  free for ALSHP members and open to non-members for a fee

      Requirements to earn continuing education credit: Participants must register, participate in the webinar for the full-time, and complete the on-line activity evaluation. The activity evaluation must be completed within 14 days of the event to receive continuing education credit. 

      Pharmacist Credit Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for 1 hour (0.1 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the requirements.
