Target Audience: Pharmacists


Pharmacist's Objectives:

  • Describe proposed mechanisms of cardiac benefit for sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors
  • Analyze the benefits for SGLT2 inhibitors in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)
  • Determine the role in therapy for SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with HFpEF
  • Describe the pharmacology of anthracyclines and how they impact cardiac function
  • Identify patients at risk of developing doxorubicin-associated cardiomyopathies
  • Develop appropriate screening and treatments plans for doxorubicin-associated cardiomyopathies

Pharmacist Credit Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for 1 hour (0.1 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the requirements.
