This is the official call for delegates and alternate delegates to the 2019 sessions of the ASHP House of Delegates. Alabama is allotted 3 delegate positions, of which 2 slots is open with this election. One delegate will serve a one year term. The other delegate will serve a three year term. Alternates are elected for a one year term.
Once nominations have been received and validated, an election ballot will be distributed. The top vote recipients will be our delegates, there may be up to 3 alternate delegates. Nominees must be a pharmacist member of ASHP and practice within Alabama. ALSHP budgets to reimburse each delegates expenses up to $2000 and this is broken up between the RDC and the ASHP Summer meeting.
The House of Delegates will meet in person on two separate occasions at the 2019 ASHP Summer Meetings in Boston, MA. The tentative schedule is:
1. First Meeting: Sunday, June 9, 2019 (1:00 PM – 5:00 p.m.) 2. Final Meeting: Tuesday, June 11, 2019 (4:00 PM – 6:00 p.m.) Additionally, there will be two virtual House meetings in March and November 2019.
Delegates must be registered to attend the Summer Meeting. Additionally, delegates must be able to attend a Regional Delegate Conference (RDC). The RDC is a 2 day review session held at the beginning of May. There are two options for the RDC, including Saturday/Sunday or Monday/Tuesday.
You may nominate a peer, or yourself, to serve as a delegate by submitting the Name and Email address of the nominee to: sglass@alshp.org.
The deadline for submission of nominations is Friday, December 28, 2018 at 5pm.
