At the completion of this application-based activity, the participant will be able to:
Explain the evidence supporting the initiation of a sodium glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor in a hospitalized patient admitted for acute decompensated heart failure
Calculate the appropriate conversion of oral to intravenous furosemide for patients on outpatient diuretic therapy
Evaluate pharmacotherapy strategies to promote a dual nephron blockade in cases of inadequate or refractory diuresis
Apply evidence-based strategies for the initiation and titration of neurohormonal modulators to enhance clinical outcomes in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF)

Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for 1 hr (0.1 ceu) of CPE credit. Participants must pre-register, participate in the entire presentation, and complete the online course evaluation to receive continuing pharmacy education credit. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 60 days for participants who have successfully completed all requirements. There is no fee for ALSHP member pharmacists. Non-member pharmacist fee: $25 which is refundable when joining ALSHP within 30 days of the program date.
